Tri-State Cold-Formed Steel Components, located in Shepherdsville, Kentucky, announces the opening of a cold-formed steel panelized wall panel facility in Shepherdsville, Tri-State Panels, LLC. The prefabricated load-bearing wall panels are available in a variety of lengths with various sheathing options to save field labor costs, reduce waste, shorten framing schedules, and improve quality control through in-shop fabrication. Optional installation is offered as well.“We have had numerous inquiries from our customers and even some prospects asking if we offered prefabricated wall panels. It got to the point where we were getting at least one inquiry a week. After studying the market, along with a recovering economy, we concluded that now was the perfect time to give our customers what they have been asking for from a quality producer of cold-formed steel building components,” said Stu Melvin, Tri-State President and CEO.
Tri-State hired George Swartz as Operations Manager to lead the effort. George has nearly 30 years experience in load-bearing wall panels and was most recently the Estimating and Operations Manager for Northpoint Building Systems, the load-bearing division for Cleveland Construction.
“The load-bearing metal wall panels market is stronger than it’s ever been. Starting up a new division with Tri-State CFS enables us to offer our clients a single-source turnkey framing system to include the floor trusses, wall panels, and roof trusses. This is an excellent application for commercial sectors such as assisted living, hotels, military projects, student housing, mid-rise apartments, and condominiums. Prefabricated components are the fastest and most efficient way to build a building,” cites George. The wall panel facility has been in the planning stage for over a year and is currently up and running. Tri-State CFS Components, known for its quality, has been designing and fabricating metal roof and floor trusses since 2003 and has shipped parts throughout the country.
